The IEIT was registered and established in Binhai New Area and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City in July 20, 2015.
Under the support of Tianjin Binhai New Area and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, the IEIT will fully leverage the advanced scientific research and talents of Tsinghua University for prototyping and industrializing research achievements in the field of electronics and information technology.
The IEIT consists of a management team, a technical team that supports the public experiment platform, and a number of project teams for technology transfer. Besidess upporting technology transfer in the IEIT, the public experiment platforms are opened to the whole society; the project team is formed by members from global recruitments; the project in cubation will follow market mechanism and attract investment of the society, and the mature incubation outcomes will be brought to the market.
The IEIT aims to explore a mechanism and operation mode for sustainable high-tech technology transfer, and promote national technology innovation and industrial development in the field of electronics and information technology.
The IEIT is operated by the Department of Electronic Engineering,Tsinghua University(EE Dept.).
Started from 1932, the EE Dept.was formally established in 1952, constituted by two first-level disciplines, “Electronic Sciences and Technology” and “Information and Communication Engineering”, which cover the fields of physical electronics and optoelectronics, circuits and systems, electro-magnetic field and micro-wave technology, communication and information systems, signal and information processing, and complex systems and network. A large number of scientific achievements helped strengthen its domestic leading position and numerous excellent graduates have contributed to the social progress of China and the world-wide development in relevant fields. The EE Dept. has been placed among the top 20 in the QS world ranking these years.
The EE Dept. takes it as its own duty to promote national technology innovation and industrial development, and devotes to explore a new approach for high-tech technology transfer. The IEIT was built up not only for EE Dept., but also for whole society to prototype and industrialize research achievements in the field of electronics and information technology.
